I was talking to an elder today and we were speaking of the ways of God and how it is impossible for us to even attempt to understand the various things that are thrown in our way as we travel through this time period of eternity called human life. In my family we are expecting the birth of a child and at the same time we're joyous of that we have a friend who is a Pastor and true man of God who lies in an Intensive Care Unit in a hospital in Philadelphia just having open heart surgery. By all accounts a young man in his mid forties and yet just like that he has a vessel blow out in his heart and is laying there totally in the hands of God. Both facing different aspects of living... one life, and one death and yet both are totally in His hands.
In all of this we will learn various lessons along the way. Life is filled with joyous times as well as filled with times of fear, worry, and even terror at times. We can try and analyze every aspect of that life and at the end of our analyzing we really don't understand it all. All that we can do is take every aspect of life, be it the happy times or the more difficult times, and we can learn the various lessons as we go. One leaves us with speculation and opinion while the other leaves us with knowledge and know-how. Face life with the attitude that everything we face is for something... there is always lessons to learn. If we learn those lessons we will bear fruit.
