In The Last Days.....

Many of us want to see revival sweep the nation and even the world.  Many have spoken of this revival that is supposed to take place during these last days although I'm not sold on the idea that this revival is going to in fact take place on a world wide basis although I too pray it happens where I am and where you are.  Paul, writing Timothy, tells us a bit about how things would be in these last days.  It is important to keep in mind as well that Paul considered even his time as the last days although we know that not the case...  literally speaking anyway.  There are many that would say, "it has always been like this throughout history" and perhaps it has to a small degree.  But thing is...  it would be a small degree compared to today.

2 Timothy 3:1  But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3  unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4  treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5  holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

I want to do a bit of a series on this passage of Scripture because it has been read countless times and preached on by many...  and we just casually glance at this, often, not realizing the magnitude of where we stand today in regard to this prophecy about the "last days."

My personal belief is that we are so close to the return of Christ that we have no more time for half-stepping...  much less taking the wee little steps most of us seem to be taking on a daily basis (if we're stepping at all...  many are shuffling their feet at best).  It is time that we awaken and recognize the season that we are in.  Jesus made it clear that we'd not know the day or the hour but He also made it clear that we sure enough should be able to recognize the season.  Unfortunately...  many of us say "He is near" but then our life testifies that we don't really believe that.
